What is GL?
GL stands for ‘glycaemic load’. This takes account of the GI as well as the quantity of available carbohydrate in a serving of the food. We find that the GL of a slice of watermelon is no problem, but the GL of a whole plate of pasta is too high.
In Dump Your Toxic Waist!, GL is used as a guide to portion size. To achieve a low-GL diet, it helps to have portions that deliver a GL of 10 or less.
